This training programme is for all new and redeployed staff
within Adult Social Care and Health and Independent providers who
work directly with service users.
This course is also suitable for those staff who are returning from long term sickness or maternity leave and for those staff who have had Safer People Handling training needs identified during supervision.
To provide staff with the knowledge with regard to current practice and the legal requirements for safe moving and handling.
During the training course delegates will be required to
participate in safer people handling techniques. Delegates will
carry out a number of practical exercises in order for the trainer
to fully assess competency.
Delegates must arrive for the training 'Fit to Attend', and be wearing clothing, which allows adequate movement. In addition, full, flat shoes or trainers must be worn (no open toe shoes, ballet shoes or high heels). If for any reason a delegate is unable to participate in all activities required (due to unsuitable clothing or ill health) they will be asked to leave the session and return to workplace.
